Good Toshiba Satellite LED laptop for the price

I bought this Toshiba Satellite LED laptop as an early christmas present for my girlfriend after shopping around for days looking for something in this price range, with dedicated video and 6gb of Ram.

The Toshiba Satellite LED laptop is fast enough for what she wants (multimedia, video editing) and the battery life isn't great when in performance mode (obviously) but it has Eco mode which definitely extends the battery life into the 4 hour + range. If you're looking for a laptop that has these specs (quad core, etc) you must not care much about battery life.

If you want something with a long battery life, buy a Netbook. I am typing this on my Asus netbook which has a battery life of over 6 hours. But the performance is terrible in comparison (and I paid over $450 for this netbook)

In a nutshell, this Toshiba Satellite LED laptop is a pretty awesome laptop for this price range, best I could find, and is pretty snazzy looking as well. She loves it. The performance, the looks, the fancy lighted mousepad, etc. It does great for multitasking and video editing and would be a great laptop if youre looking for a good performing, great price laptop.

It's a 5.9 windows 7 rating, if that helps anyone. And also it stays cooler than my netbook when on my lap, it is pretty amazing. I'm actually jealous, and may be buying myself a full size laptop now.

Pretty happy, but the battery upsets me.

So I used to own a Dell laptop it was pretty old and I found out by accident that coffee in fact will not speed up a computer. So I was in the market for a good laptop on a budget. I admit, I wasn't looking at Toshiba Satellite LED laptop at first. I have heard mixed reviews, BUT Bob used to say, "The Price is Right" so I got one. I'm really thrilled with the performance, overall its a good machine. Runs as good as my desktop which is what I was basically looking for. I was really excited to see the battery life was 5 hours when I bought it. Hot dog, perfect for when the power is out or I am on a long road trip. However....not the case. At BEST the battery has a 3 hour life. Realistically it lasts about 2.5. I only like Half-Life when it involves Gordon Freeman.

All in all I would recommend Toshiba Satellite LED laptop to a friend but I would suggest if you have the cash shell out for the big battery the one that comes with the box is not what is advertised.

Hey, wait, maybe I could use that to get a new battery...

Just what my wife wanted...even though she didn't know it

I bought this Toshiba Satellite LED laptop as a replacement for my wife's aging MSI, but I thought long and hard about the new A8 processor and an i7. She does work from home on occasion, which involves Excel and Word, surfs the web and plays The Sims 3. Given those parameters, spending another $150.00 for the i7 didn't make sense.

She had no idea I bought Toshiba Satellite LED laptop and has done nothing but rave over how much better the Toshiba is over her old MSI. For daily processing and work, this thing kicks butt. For gaming, in her case The Sims 3, it's leaps and bounds over anything else out there. I even played a little Civ 5 on this, and it ran well.

Overall, unless you need the extra umph for video processing, you can not go wrong with the Toshiba Satellite LED laptop. Excellent.
